There plenty of Hill stations in Tamil Nadu, but I am going to say about the most attractive hill stations of Tamil Nadu, which are known for their biodiversity, Wildlife, pleasant climate and offcorse Verdant greenery.

2.Kodaikanal.

3.Ooty.
Ooty is Officially known as Udagamandalam. Local residents call it Queen of Hills. 4.Kotagiri.
One of the popular hill stations in the Nilgiris besides Ooty (29 km), Coonoor (18 km), Kotagiri is your quintessential plantation. Situated at an elevation of 5,882 ft. The name Kotagiri means 'mountains of Kotas' (the Nilgiris hills have been the traditional home of the Kota tribe). Kotagiri's importance fell when the ghat road of Mettupalayam at the foothills of Coonoor was built. Kotagiri offers plenty of opportunities for trekking and rock climbing.

 5. Velliangiri Hills.
The Velliangiri Mountains, a part of the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve. Known as the "Sapthagiri, 7 Hills-Seven Mountains", these mountains are held and revered on par with the spiritually most powerful place on the planet - Mount Kailash, the legendary abode of Lord Shiva. On the top of the Velliangiri Mountains, Shiva is worshipped as Swayambhu.

6. Yelagiri

7. Kolli Hills
Kollai hills referred to as the Kolli Malai, and it means the 'Mountain of Death. The hills are almost 1000 to 1300 meters in height that cover 280 sq. km. You will get nearly 70 hairpin bends, which take the tourist to the top of the hill. The early Hindu literature talks about the actual existence of the Kolli Pavai Ghost on the top of these hills and in this way, they earned the ultimate destination.

8. Valparai
Valparai (originally known as Poonachimalai) is Taluk and Hill station. It consists of Anamalai Tiger Reserve. It's located at 7102 feet above sea level on the Anaimalai Hills range of the Western Ghats. The foothill starts exactly from Monkey Falls which is at the distance of 38 km to Valparai. The route of Valparai from the foothills consists of 40 hairpin bends.

9. Ketti Valley
Ketti Valley is also called 'Ketti' is a small town nestled in a large valley of the same name. Upper Ketti is another village called Yellanahall. Ketti Valley is India's 2nd largest inhabited valley, offers astounding views of the blue mountain hills and the surrounding region. The Ketti valley boasts of an excellent location with a surreal setting where you can re-discover the inner peace in yourself to die for. 10. Yercaud
Yercaud lies in the Shevaroys range of hills. It's situated at an altitude of 1515 meters above sea level, the highest point in Yercaud is the Servarayan temple at 1623 meters. Yercaud is known for its orange groves and fruits, coffee and spice plantations. Yercaud Lake has a boathouse and surrounded by gardens and woods. On the lake eastern shore, Anna park has local plants and a Japanese garden with bonsai. To the southwest, the lady's Seat vantage point has a watchtower with a telescope.

Must go places when you visit Chennai


                               Tourist places in Chennai  
               First time in chennai. All the people visit Chennai because it is the capital of TN, but there are lots of beautiful  tourist attraction in Chennai.                                                                                            
1.Marina Beach. Marina Beach one if the most iconic attractions of the city. I think you have already guessed the place, yes it is Marina Beach. It is the longest urban beach in India.  

2.  valluvar kottam. Valluvar is one the greatest classical Tamil poet, philosopher. Valluvar kottam is a monument in chennai dedicated to valluvar. It's the city's biggest Tamil cultural centre. Valluvar kottam is located at the intersection of the kodambakkam high road and the village road in Nungambakkam neighbourhood of Chennai.

   3. Chennai Rail Museum.The Chennai Rail Museum is a railway museum in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The 6.25-acre museum has technical and heritage exhibits, with a sizable collection of Steam engines from the Britsh Raj. If you are interested in the History of the Indian Railways you should check out for this place. Location: Perambur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.          

                 4. Kapaleeswarar Temple. Kapaleeswarar Temple is a hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Temple was built around the 7th century CE and example of Dravidan architecture. If you are fascinated about the dravidan architecture, then you must go to this Temple. Location: Mylapore, Chennai.


  5.Guindy National Park. Guindy National park is the 8th smallest National park all over the India. Only few national parks situated around the city. The park is an extension of the grounds surrounding Raj Bhavan, formerly known as the 'Guindy Lodge'. It extends deep inside the enclosing beautiful forests, scrubs, lakes and streams. Main attraction of the park is the 20 million years old specimen of Tyrannosaurus. If you are Wildlife Photographer, I think this place should be in your list. Location:Chennai, TN, India.

    6.  Edward Elliot BeachElliot's Beach is popularly known as "Besant Nagar Beach" or "Bessie". It forms the end point of the Marina Beach shore, named after Edward Elliot. One of the popular beaches of the amazing city. This dramatic stretch of sand, located at the end of the Marina beach is frequently visited by tourists to enjoy it's glittering waters and taking a relaxing stroll  the striking shoreline. witnessing sunset and sunrise at the Edward Elliot Beach is a pleasant experience. Location: Besant Nagar.

7. St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica.San Thome Church, also known as National Shrine of Saint Thomas, is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Santhrome, in the city of Chennai. It was built in 16th centuary by Portuguese. This church one the only three known churches in the world built over the tomb of an apostle of Jesus.Santhome church stands majestically with the outer facade being complete white and the inner ceiling being dark brown. A amazing church built in Neo-Gothic style delights every vivitor with its naturally lit interiors, rows of wooden pews and magneficent windows with coloured panes.Location: Mylapore, Chennai.

8. Pulicat lake. Pulicat Lagoon is the second largest backrish water lagoon in India, after chilika Lake. Pulicat Lagoon is considered to be the second largest backrish water body in India. Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary is a famous sanctuary, located  area in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and a protected area of the Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu, India. Location: Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu border.
       
9. Theosophical society. Theosophical society founded in 1875, is a worldwide body with aim to advance the of Theosophy in continuation of the previous Theosophists, especially that of Greek and Alexandrian Neo-Platonic philosopers dating to 3rd century AD. In Theosophical Society there is universal britherhood without distictionor race, creed, sex, caste, or colour.Location: Adyar.
10. Dakshinachitra. DhashinaChitra is an exciting cross cutural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts of South India. Dakshinachitra has a collection of 18 authentic historical houses with contextual exhibitions in each house. The authentic homes in a regional vernacular style are purchased, taken down, transported and reconstructed by the artisans (Stapathis) of the regions fron where the houses came.
